Here at Cats’ Castle, we encounter very happy, healthy and lucky furry (and sometimes not so furry) felines! However, not all animals are as well off as the guests we see here. At Cats’ Castle we are lucky enough to be working with kitties who have warm and loving forever homes to go back to once vacation is over. While we are happy for the good fortune of our guests, we also care about those animals that are less fortunate.

We believe that every animal deserves a loving home, and we are proactive about helping these animals in need in a number of ways. We take part annually in local SPCA calendars, in the way of paid advertising as well as mass purchases of these calendars. We re-sell the calendars in our office and give the proceeds back to the shelters (you can purchase The Oakville and Milton Humane Society calendar, as well as the Hamilton and Burlington SPCA calendars for $10 each in our office now!).

We also have a “Free to a good home” board posted just inside of our doors. Here our customers often post information about cats and dogs that they may have rescued or are currently fostering and are looking for permanent homes for. It also happens on occasion, that due to new living arrangements, or newly developed allergies our customers need to find new homes for their beloved felines. When these kitties are added to our “Free to a good home board” we also try to post information, pictures and photos on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cats-Castle-Cat-Hotel/126877664148236) to increase the exposure these kitties get, and hopefully increase the likelihood of them finding a new happy home!

We currently have two kitties staying with us, Dexter and Dave (pictured above), who are in this very predicament. A new family member has an allergy to the kitties and they are therefore looking for a more well-suited home.
