Busy Boarding: Tips and information on Boarding Your Kitty During Peak Seasons

Any time kids  are out of school, volume at boarding facilities sky rocket (July, August, march break and Christmas holidays). When numbers go up at a boarding facility, that means a couple of things, including the fact that suite choices decrease dramatically, and extra steps must be taken to ensure the health and safety of all guests.

Here at Cats’ Castle, we are just coming out of our summer rush, and are already preparing for our next peak at Christmas time. It is only September and already our rooms are filling up! Whenever it is a peak season at a boarding facility, you should be sure to reserve your spot as early as possible. This way you can be sure to get your preferred accommodation at the most reasonable price. If you wait too long, you may find that all of the most economically friendly suites have already been reserved, or the particular suite your kitty is used to is already taken!

Increasing numbers at Cats’ Castle also means an increase in safety precautions to make sure all guests remain happy and healthy! Regardless of the season, we always require our guests to be up to date on their vaccinations. The FVRCP vaccine in particular protects your kitty against the most common communicable viruses that can spread between cats. It is your kitties best defense against air borne illnesses they may come in contact with when boarding. At peak times we also recommend all customers to allow us to add a product called “Viralys” to their kitties food. This is a lysine supplement that helps to increase your kitties immune system so that they are better equipt to fight off any colds that may pass through the facility. We also clean all suites, and mop all of the floors with a zoological grade disinfectant to kill off any germs or bacteria that may have entered the facility. To top it all off we have a state of the art air circulation system, which constantly pulls fresh air into our facility and blows stale air out!

My friends always tell me that when they send their kids off to day care and kindergarten, they come back covered in germs, and often end up getting sick! Taking your kitty to a cat boarding facility can be a similar situation, but we do everything in our power to make sure your kitty does not come into contact with germs or viruses from other cats! We do our part to keep your kitty healthy, and you can do your part to make sure they are comfortable by booking your suite early! Booking early will ensure that you have the most suite options to pick from for your furry friend!

Take care, and we’ll see you at the holidays!!
